Why This Matters
In 1983, Harvard psychologist Dr. Howard Gardner proposed that human intelligence is not a single ability — but a spectrum of eight distinct strengths. His research transformed how educators around the world understand children's learning.
Traditional tests only measure logical and linguistic ability — leaving most children's true strengths unmeasured. Gardner showed that a child who struggles in maths might be extraordinarily gifted in music, movement, or social intelligence.
The ages of 3–6 are the most critical window for cognitive development. Identifying your child's natural strengths early allows you to provide the right stimulation, activities, and encouragement at exactly the right time.
Gardner's research found that all children possess all 8 intelligences — but in different proportions. There are no 'smart' or 'not smart' children, only children whose particular strengths haven't been discovered yet.
BrightBit's learning content is designed around these intelligences. Once you know your child's top strengths, our platform helps them learn Math, Science, Chinese and English in ways that match how their brain naturally works.
Linguistic
Writer, Teacher, Journalist, Lawyer
Strong with words, stories, and communication. These children love reading, writing, and expressing ideas — natural storytellers and communicators.
Logical-Mathematical
Engineer, Scientist, Mathematician, Programmer
Strong with patterns, numbers, and reasoning. These children love puzzles, sorting, and figuring out how things work — natural scientists and problem-solvers.
Visual-Spatial
Artist, Architect, Designer, Photographer
Strong with images, colours, and space. These children love drawing, building, and imagining — natural artists, designers, and architects.
Musical
Musician, Composer, Sound Designer, Music Teacher
Strong with sound, rhythm, and melody. These children are deeply moved by music and can recognise and recreate tunes naturally — natural musicians and performers.
Bodily-Kinesthetic
Athlete, Dancer, Surgeon, Craftsperson
Strong with the body, movement, and touch. These children learn by doing and excel at physical activities — natural athletes, dancers, and craftspeople.
Interpersonal
Teacher, Counsellor, Manager, Social Worker
Strong with people, empathy, and social awareness. These children easily make friends, read emotions, and thrive in group settings — natural leaders and collaborators.
Intrapersonal
Philosopher, Psychologist, Entrepreneur, Author
Strong with self-awareness and inner reflection. These children know what they like, express their feelings clearly, and are comfortable in their own company — natural thinkers and visionaries.
Naturalist
Biologist, Vet, Geographer, Environmental Scientist
Strong with the natural world — animals, plants, and patterns in nature. These children notice everything outdoors and are passionate about living things — natural scientists and environmentalists.

Common questions Singapore parents ask about this quiz and Multiple Intelligences
An IQ test measures a single cognitive score, typically administered by a psychologist and costing S$700–S$1,600 in Singapore. This quiz identifies your child's unique learning strengths across 8 dimensions — it's an educational tool, not a clinical assessment.
Yes. The Multiple Intelligences approach is widely adopted by Singapore preschools including ChildFirst and Sunflower Preschool. Many design dedicated learning areas — music corners, building zones, nature tables — to stimulate each intelligence type.
Yes. You answer the questions as a parent based on what you observe at home. No reading or screen time is required from your child. The questions describe everyday behaviours — things you see during play, mealtimes and stories.
Yes. All children have all 8 intelligences to varying degrees — there is no single 'type.' Most children have 2–3 intelligences that emerge more strongly. The quiz shows your child's full profile across all 8, not just a label.
Ages 3–6 are ideal. The brain is highly plastic during preschool years and nurturing the right intelligences early builds confidence and a love of learning before formal schooling begins.
They overlap but are different. Learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) describe how children prefer to receive information. Multiple Intelligences describe the domains where they have natural aptitude. Gardner's framework gives parents a richer and more actionable picture.
You see your child's top 2 intelligence strengths instantly — with descriptions and what those strengths look like in real behaviour. Sign up free at BrightBit to unlock all 8 scores and a personalised learning plan.
This quiz is based on Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences (1983). It is designed as a helpful guide for parents and is not a clinical diagnostic tool. Results reflect observed behaviours and should be used as a starting point for conversations about your child's learning style.
